Today went by so quickly! Rachel and TK came up (down?) to London from their program in Cambridge, and we spent the day wondering around London. We had the most amazing time, just talking and walking, and walking, and walking, and walking. I walked a total of 23 049 steps - 16.8 km! - according to my phone, because I walked from my flat to Westminster Pier to meet them, and then we walked back, and had dinner at an Indian restaurant about two blocks away from my flat.
It was wonderful seeing them, and if I weren't so tired from the long walk, I would probably go into a bit more detail about everything! It was also super hot today, which contributes to the tiredness. I'm just so glad they could come and see me and we could meet up and go adventuring together! I have put up on Facebook a whole lot of the photos we took, which definitely tell their own story! I'm glad I went back for my hat this morning, (I'd left it upstairs!), and that I decided to take my camera, because a) it was boiling hot, and I would have been frazzled, and b) we were able to take some lovely pictures!
My favourite part of today, although in all honesty there were many, was stepping into the water at the Victoria and Albert Museum. All these adorable little children were dancing around, and sometimes it's just refreshing to remember that you don't have to be five to have fun! I was probably four times the average age of kiddies in the pool, but I had just as much fun as they did!
And I saw so many beautiful things I can't record all of them! That's where cameras are wonderful (and encouraging of laziness!): they allow you to record beauty even when you're too tired to formulate an actual vocal (or written) response. I think the smiles in all the pictures of me say it all!
Here are a few from our day, (and follow this link to see the rest!)
